Our dog sitting services are exclusive for the best pups our there who are treated like the royalty they are.

Our home is known to our guests as the Canine University Resort & Spa and here’s why:

During their stay, our guests get to enjoy:

  • A safe, caring home in which they’ll be treated and spoiled like part of our loving family beyond the common dog sitting experience.
  • Certified professional care directly provided by the President of Canine University. This includes advanced knowledge in behavior, positive training, handling of medical emergencies and more with ~20 years experience and continued education.
  • Two fenced-in small patios for sunbathing, “snowbathing” and enjoying the sniffs and sights from our highly dog-friendly neighbors and community under permanent supervision. Unless we are there directly watching, the doors to both patios are always kept closed, but because they’re glass, our guests still get to watch.
  • Private VID treatment being the only guest, since we never take in more than one guest at a time unless we’re hosting more than one pup from the same family.
  • Large grass areas surrounding our home to go on several walks and potty breaks every day. These areas also have many squirrels and bunnies to watch and wonder about, plus awesome neighbors and their friendly dogs.
  • Basic medical needs being taken care of. If they need daily medication or have any other condition, we’re happy and qualified to do it all following your detailed instructions.
  • The company and friendship of Pawfessors Key and Mr. Jack, who will calmly guide them into the VID spa experience (more details below)
  • The most fun and educational environment playing mental games and digging through our wide selection of toys. If there’s specific toys that are dangerous for your pup specifically due to swallowing, allergies, etc., we will go through the whole selection and hide those during their entire stay for their safety.

  • Cuddles and relaxation galore! We’re the proud founders of Cuddle’s Day. Due to Pawfessor Key being such a spoiled senior king with lots of emotional needs, we established that at least one day per week there’ll be no human errands or relevant work. The dress code consists of PJs exclusively, no shoes allowed; and treats, games, cuddles and naps are the only relevant matters of the day. If this coincides with your stay, they will of course get to enjoy the luxury and joy of Cuddle’s Day. We are not responsible for the consequences of exposing your pup to this kind of treatment and you needing to implement this holiday at home afterwards.
  • Continuing the VID experience, if at home they’re allowed on human beds and couches, they will also be allowed on ours, although it would be their choice between that, different dog beds that we have or the floor.
  • If they desire, at times we will perform full massage sessions with relaxing music and DogTV.
  • If they want and you approve of it in advance, surprise treats & refreshments involving organic peanut butter or home made puppy ice cream will also be included from time to time. Our home made treats are always all natural and organic using greek yogurt, baby food, blueberries, bananas, carrots, cheese and other puppy safe delicacies. If your pup has allergies or digestive issues, we will only use the treats you bring, of course.

Are there any other animals in the home?

Yes. Pawfessors Key and Mr. Jack. Key is a 13 y/o golden retriever and Mr. Jack is a 10 y/o mini poodle. Both are highly trained, very patient and social. They have helped hundreds of dogs in different countries overcoming their phobias and other behavioral problems thanks to their calm and confident demeanor in situations that would trigger other dogs. They also guide our dog sitting guests during their stay on the best spots to explore around the community, the best sunbathing techniques, the treat sources in the home and more.

Are there human children in the home?

No. Only two adults live in our home. One man and one woman. Both, of course, highly skilled dog lovers able to read body language and adjust our treatment according to our guests’ preferences. There’s also barely any human children in our community and we rarely cross paths with them.

  • House sitting: if your pup is ultra exclusive and needs us to come to their kingdom, we’ll be happy to stay at their place instead. With this service, besides dog sitting, we’re able to care for your plants, bring packages inside and perform other regular home tasks.
  • Multi species: we have many years of experience with different species. If you need sitting for animals other than dogs, please send us a message with details.
  • Special needs: from administering complex medication to handling medical emergencies, helping during puppy delivery, caring for seniors and training blind/deaf animals, we have had our fare share of experiences with special needs animals. Anything that your pup may need that doesn’t require professional veterinary staff, we can do. We can also book 24/7 care if needed and available at the time of booking. Seniors are likely our top specialty.
  • Puppies: as positive trainers, we’re of course qualified to take care of puppies.
  • Training: we’re professionals in positive training, so we’ll be happy to include special educational activities for all ages in your dog sitting package.
  • Transportation: we can pick up and/or drop off your pup. They must be able to ride calmly in the back seat. Throwing up or making any other kind of mess would require specialized cleaning fees.

How much is it?

The base rate for VID dog sitting in our home is:

  • Students of Canine University: $120/night/dog
  • Non-students: $130/night/dog

Before booking, we’ll send you a detailed summary including all the services through email with the total. All other services like home sitting, special needs, etc. will be determined when we get details of the exact services required.

  • Drop off: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. (if earlier on the same day after 12 m., an additional fee of 50% of the nightly rate will apply. If earlier than 12 m., an additional fee equivalent to a night’s stay will apply)
  • Pick up: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (if later on the same day before 4 p.m., an additional fee of 50% of the nightly rate will apply. If later, an additional fee equivalent to a night’s stay will apply)
  • All services must be paid in full in advance in order to save the dates. No exceptions. Payments can be made through cash, Zelle or Venmo
  • Lack of payment of any pending fees by the day of pick up may cause extra boarding fees per the pick-up schedules above. These fees will also be the owner’s responsibility and must be paid in full before pick-up
  • The base tuition does not cover any damages to our property or others’ caused by the guest
  • Up to date vaccinations, no parasites, current illnesses or open wounds (unless clearly discussed with us and approved in written form beforehand)
  • In order to stay in our home, pups must be perfectly fine with sharing spaces with 2 loving humans and 2 peaceful dogs
  • In order to stay in our home, pups must be perfectly housebroken (no chewing on furniture, bedding, plants or anything that isn’t clearly a dog toy). We thrive to provide a true home for our guests instead of the traditional detached dog sitting/boarding experience, and this means full access to our entire home like our own pups. However, this can be problematic when the guests are not housebroken. Any damages caused will be the owner’s responsibility and must be paid in full before pick up
  • Unless you provide one, we will not use crates. Because of this, any damages caused due to not being housebroken will be the owner’s responsibility and must be paid in full before pick up (No exceptions regardless of cost). If you’re unsure about your pup being able to stay away from inappropriate objects while unattended, we strongly suggest you bring a crate (and they must be trained to use it quietly while alone, of course) or book our House Sitting service instead of our regular VID dog sitting.
  • Pups must be potty trained to only go outside. Damages and specialized cleaning charges for urine, feces or any bodily fluids will be the owner’s responsibility. Special needs services discussed in advance and clearly written and agreed upon through email will be the only exception to avoid specialized cleaning fees
  • During some stays, we might stay with them the entire time, only leaving the premises to take out the trash or check the mail. Nevertheless, unless 24/7 care is added as a special service, we cannot guarantee this and they may have to stay at home alone for about 3-4 hours some days
  • For safety reasons, we’ll only feed what you provide or explicitly approve in advance, as well as any other restrictions you communicate. If they eat cooked food, you must bring it already cooked and we’ll keep it in the fridge/freezer
  • For safety reasons, we’ll only take them out for potty breaks and short walks. Other than that, they’ll be having fun inside being spoiled like the royalty they are
  • We will not use or receive prong or shock collars. If a collar or harness slips off at any point or a leash breaks, it’ll be the owner’s responsibility.
  • We will only hand them over to you or whomever you authorize (photo ID required at pick up if we don’t know them. No exceptions)
  • All pets must be handed over clean and in good grooming condition
  • Due to safety, we will not provide anyone with our full home address until after the dog sitting service has been booked. It is not possible to come see our home in person unless the service is previously booked. No exceptions. We’re happy to show you some photos but please understand this is our home, not a public place. Once the dog sitting service is booked and you come to drop off your pup, we will gladly have you come into our living room while we get your baby settled. Please do not show up unannounced after we send you the address
  • By sending a payment, it is understood that the owner agrees to every condition stated in this page as well as through email (No exceptions)
